Trent Green kept out of the field

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green will be kept out of the field as a precautionary measure despite all X-rays coming back negative.

Green, who rest at a local hospital and was kept for a second night, left Sunday's 23-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on a stretcher in the third quarter with a concussion. With 4:52 remaining in the third frame, Green was flushed out of the pocket by Cincinnati's rush and headed to the right of the field.

Green then decided to keep the ball and scrambled five yards before beginning his slide. As Green began his descent to the ground, Geathers slammed into the quarterback, driving his upper body into the ground.

Green remained down on the field for about 11 minutes before being placed on a stretcher and carted off the field. Before his exit, Green had completed 11-of-15 passes for 90 yards with an interception. Then he was replaced under center by Damon Huard, who finished 12-of-20 passing for 140 yards with a touchdown pass.
